Torun I love it

22nd August 2017

It is a city which I visited in July.

TORUN (Kashubian: Torń, German: Thorn) is a beautiful, medieval city in North-Western Poland, situated on the Vistula River. Its architecture was not hit by bombs during World War II, and as such represents one of the few examples of true Gothic architecture in Poland. It is still reasonably off the radars of most European travelers, so one can expect to have an amazing Polish experience here without the nightmares of a million and one Interrail travelers.
It has been one of the capitals of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship since 1999, and was the capital of the Toruń Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998 and of the Pomeranian Voivodeship from 1921 to 1939. The city is located near the Geographic Center of Europe.
Toruń's medieval Old Town or Starówka is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Toruń is the birthplace of the world famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. The house where Copernicus was born and the chapel where he was christened are still standing in the city. From Middle Ages the town is known for its gingerbreads.
As of the last census in 2004, Toruń has 208,386 inhabitants.

Last flowers in the garden

21 st August 2017

So I have almost finished summer holidays. I spent 7 weeks at my summer house. It was a fantastic time full of joy, relax and travelling. On Sunday we are leaving to my permanent place of living. On 4th September we start school but since 28th August we must be at school because we are going to have teachers' meetings and prepare for a new school year.

In my garden there are the last blooming flowers. Days are shorter and shorter and mornings are colder.

I love this lake..

20th August 2017

I was there one week it was a fantastic decision.

The lake was created in 1968 by the construction of the Solina Dam on the San River. It has an area of 22 square kilometres (8 sq mi) and contains 472,000,000 cubic metres (617,000,000 cu yd; 383,000 acre·ft) of water, making it Poland's largest artificial lake.
It is the best known tourist attraction of the region, with waterside villages  like SolinaMyczkowce and Polańczyk catering to watersports enthusiasts. The lake's great depth, water clarity, and mountainous scenery makes it a very popular destination for boaters. Because of these qualities the lake has been nicknamed the "Bieszczady Sea".
Starting in the 1970s the Wojewódzkie Przedsiębiorstwo Turystyczne (State Tourism Enterprise) "Bieszczady" purchased a number of vessels for the lake and established the lake's White Fleet. The fleet's main ships offer cruises on the lake.
